People diagnosed with diabetes should check their feet every day and report any sores or cuts that do not heal, puffiness, swelling, and skin that feels hot to the touch to thier podiatrist.
With regular visits to a podiatrist for routine preventative podiatry care, appropriate footwear and a personal daily foot care routine ,it is possible to prevent any serious complaints.
An annual diabetes foot assessment is recommended to monitor any issues that might arise, complications and help prevent any serious problems.
