Fungal Nail Care
Fungal nail infection (onychomycosis), is a common foot health issue. Infections range from mild to severe and can affect one or several nails on one or both feet. Fungal nail infection causes your toenails to thicken, becoming opaque and unsightly, which can affect your confidence and impact your lifestyle.
For mild infections we can advise which treatment to use alongside regular chiropody treatment, where we file and remodel your nail. Filing helps to clear away some of the infected nail, which helps the nail absorb the medication and speed up the healing time. For moderate to severe infections, you may need a 12 week course of oral medication, which can only be prescribed by your GP.
